Okay, enough of the pork talk. Let's talk about stuff that really matters: Yarn and knitting. Knitting and yarn, and cool caps.
This is really just a beret, but with a much longer crown. Usually, a beret that isn't slouchy like this one measures just four inches or so. Even three. This one's way extended so it drapes "just so."
I figure this cap will be in fashion for a season, two at the most. So if you really want to make the most of it, use a non-washable wool for the cap. This way, when it loses its cool factor, you can throw the thing in the washer and felt it.
It'll make a heckuva great bowl.
Le′Slouch is here. You can download the free pattern from my Free Pattern side bar. Enjoy!

Thank you for the free pattern. I do love the coat.
Could you swipe the pattern for that??

can I steal your coat? Is it from a department store or some trendy CA store I could never hope to find in Atlanta?

Thank you thank you thank you, Wendy!!! We leave on Friday for Akumal, Mexico and it's SO just the thing for beach knitting when it's winter where you came from but not where you are. Thank you thank you thank you! Happy Holidays!

I really like this beret, I have been searching online all night for the perfect beret and I think this is the winner! Thanks for posting the free pattern, but the only problem is that I don't know how to knit in the round using double pointed needles. I only know how to knit in the round using circular needles. Is there a way to modify the pattern for circular needles? Thanks again!

thanks for the pattern - it's EXACTLY what i've been looking for! have a quick question though, am still new-ish to knitting and gauge conversions for different yarns aren't my forte. i've got a gorgeous mohair/silk blend with a teensy bit of sparkle that i'm dying to use, but no idea how many stiches to cast on to make the rest of it work. any suggestions?

Slouch hat.
I am starting with five double point needles.
How many stitches do I cast on to each needle.
Many thanks.

In the crown decrease row the pattern states
"ssk, sm, k2tog. Repeat from * etc.
can someone please tell me what "sm" means.
I have looked for this in various abbreviations for knitting and cannot find the term "sm".
thank you
